YOUTH LEADERSHIP FOR DISADVANTAGED COMMUNITIES (part one)

Instructional Goals and Objectives
This course based on the Pedagogy of the Mayor of K-Street is designed to provide training in disadvantaged communities based on the growing need to deal with issues such as poverty, homelessness, juvenile delinquency, substance abuse etc. To meet these needs, the current textbook established the following instructional goals:

  1. Train young men and young women on the issues of crimes, violence, truancy, dropouts and substance abuse so that they become good citizens and leaders in their communities

  2. Helping the youth in disadvantaged communities to understand and respect law enforcement in their communities and collaborate with law officers for safe communities.

  3. Stimulate interest in the youth of disadvantaged communities to participate in activities that can improve their communities. For example, they can organize the production of theatrical performances based on the nine plays of the Pedagogy of the Mayor of K-Street.

  4. Provide training in reading and writing skills so that the youth in disadvantaged communities can support job preparedness.

ABOUT THE FIRST TROLOGY

The world. The genesis of the trilogy begins on K Street, Washington, DC with the story of an old man named Walter Holmes, AKA the Mayor of K Street. Despite four decades of poverty and homelessness on K Street, Walter still had a positive mindset and vision for the city of Washington DC and its disadvantaged communities. His positive mindset and vision constitute the theoretical foundation upon which these monologues are built. Furthermore, the theoretical foundation was structured into a community leadership approach known as The Pedagogy of the Mayor of K Street, which provides nine steps for understanding and helping disadvantaged communities. Understanding Urban Poverty Through the School of Humility

This course focuses on the global crisis of urban poverty. Students will examine the emotional pain, human struggles, and harsh realities of life on the streets. Additionally, the curriculum addresses the severe winter conditions faced by vulnerable populations and explores actionable strategies to protect and save lives.
